International Public Health Law

Our attorneys are active partners in global public health law initiatives, and help draft and consult on international health laws that advance social justice and human rights.  We’re engaged in international tobacco control efforts through the work of the Framework Convention Alliance and the Global Smoke-free Partnership and we’ve worked with the World Health Organization, the American Lung Association and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on international tobacco regulation, global litigation, and access to tobacco industry documents.  Our director monitored the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control public health treaty negotiations and played a key role in developing the global guidelines for smoke-free legislation approved by 147 nations in 2007.
